2 Month Checkup

Little Miss Lucy went in for her 2 month check up today and passed with flying colors!

She's 12 pounds, 5.5 ounces, putting her in the 75th percentile for weight; her head is 16cm, putting her in the 90-95th percentile for head size, and 23 3/4 inches for height, putting her in the 90-95th percentile.  She seems to have her mama's build so far, including that big ol' head -- sorry kiddo!

Laid back baby -- check that happy tummy!
She got four vaccinations (poor girl), and handled them really well!  She cried for a minute or two while she was on the table, but settled right down when I picked her up.  Sweet girl slept the whole way home, through errands, and is still asleep almost two hours later.

The doctor assured me she's right on track for growth, so not to worry about her occasional "nursing strikes" when she refuses to eat in the evenings.  She said that by this point, Lucy knows whether she's hungry or tired and to let her dictate her feeding schedule.

Oh, side note: She was in a disposable diaper this morning after having a hint of diaper rash (I need to find a good nighttime cloth diaper solution -- she occasionally gets a little rashy when she sleeps really long at night).  Anyway, I'm very proactive about treating her rash, so she was in a disposable so I could treat it.  I had her on my lap after the doctor examined her, getting her partially dressed before her shots.  I lifted her up to pull the onesie down to snap it and I felt warmth on my legs... WHY does it feel like I have pee on me?  Oh... because I do.  Awesome.  Just another reason I love cloth diapers: they have elastic around the waist so they don't leak like 'sposies do!

Lucy is 2 months old!

Lucy is two months old today!

Happy two months, baby girl!!

She is overall a pretty happy baby (except when she's gassy...or we put her down at night - oh my!).  She smiles a lot and she's cooing more and responding to us.  She will smile when she sees me now, which makes my heart just melt, and her crying will slow down when she sees me approach to pick her up.  She's starting to try to laugh: she'll smile really big and breath in and out rapidly -- it's pretty cute!  She loves going for walks in the stroller and has finally decided that she loves the ergo!  She no longer requires the newborn insert so she's able to look around. I think that's made the difference for her.

She's trying out new faces.  My favorite is when she sucks in her top lip and pout out her lower lip -- it melts my heart. I'd pretty much give her anything she asked if she could talk after making that face.  She has discovered how to blow bubbles with her mouth.  She has discovered her fingers and spends a lot of her time trying to get them (and keep them) in her mouth. She likes the side of her fist the best....it's cute...so long as she's not also trying to nurse. (yeaaa.....)

Just a little bit of Luc':

She thinks mommy and daddy are hilarious, and loves her cousins, who are enthralled with her.  Noah has nicknamed her Luc Luc (prounounced Loose Loose) and I think it's going to stick.  Her other nicknames are Little Bird, Lucy Bear, and Baby -- what can I say,  I still call her baby, my baby, or baby mine most of the time.  It's hard to change over after 9 months of talking to her as "baby".

A few pictures of the last week:
Being two months old is exhausting!

Photos from the last week:

I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite!

WE LOVE YOU, LUCY MARGARET!! More than we ever could have fathomed, and more each day!

8 Weeks!

Lucy is 8 weeks old today!  She's already outgrowing (or outgrown) her 0-3 month clothes and some of her 3 month clothes.  Oh my, stop growing up so fast, my baby! She's already looking so mature -- it's hard to believe she's been here for less than two months still.

Lucy coos, smiles, and growls her expressions.  We're starting to see more and more personality coming out as she lets us know how she feels.  Overall she's a happy girl who loves her daddy.  He plays with her and makes mama a little nervous sometimes, but she just loves it!  She loves to snuggle with mama and ride around with her in the ergo when she's taking care of the home.

Cherishing these sweet snuggles!

Sometimes mommy takes too many pictures...Happy Valentine's Day, anyway.

She's an active sleeper -- she started out vertical on my chest and ended up perfectly sideways.

Daddy-time!  SHer neck is getting stronger and she enjoys sitting up!

Daddy does some crazy stunts!

8 weeks old today and looking like a big girl!

My Kid is Cute!

I need no more reason to post these pictures than that...

She has a strawberry birthmark on her shoulder

Happy girl! She likes being naked or as close to it as possible... I think this is why she constantly spits up all over her clothes... So mommy has to strip her down!

Chubby? I don't know what you're talking about!

That's my girl! Tongue out and smiling! Check that cute dimple!

Lucy's First Snow!

It started snowing last night while we were having dinner with GG Nancy (GG is Great Grandma). We hustled home and woke up to a winter wonderland this morning!  Lucy's first snow!

We bundled up our little bear and went for a walk!

Family walk in the snow!

Lucy loves going for walks in the Ergo -- as long as we're walking. She's not so keen on stopping.

This made me think of our crazy Charlie boy.

As you can see he's enjoying the snow and has a great new owner:

The walk wore Lucy plum out!

And mommy and daddy enjoyed some quiet time in front of a nice fire!

Yes, those are duraflame logs...yes, we cheat. You would too if you lived on the third floor! ;)

My beautiful girl!
